Problem Statement:

People feel overwhelmed and inconsequential aiding social and environmental causes and therefore do not take any substantial action to help.

The Mental State of Philanthropy...

Charity donations on an individual basis are down in the United States. This has posed a problem since the vacuum has been filled by immensely rich individuals, and many causes are clamoring for funds that are left out in the cold.

There are a lot of ways to help...

There are a lot of choices to give to a cause, but the choices are
overwhelming and require a fair amount of research...Wikipedia lists
hundreds of foundations and Google's first results for "environmental
helping" all come back as lists of steps ranging from 7 to 50, there
has got to be another way!

Why don't People take Action?

An overwhelming majority of those interviewed were highly aware of
environmental concerns, but none of the participants had a concerted
plan to meaningfully contribute to an organization that would help
the problem. The Post-Its reveal their frustrations.

Breaking down giving according to geographical regions made for very straightforward information groupings.

A Rough Idea...

Guiding an individual through the charitable process, allowing them choices and informing them of their impact every step of the say takes the "unknown" out of giving, and helps them feel empowered that they are making a difference!

Takeaways:

Empowering people to take active steps in improving our environment and individual peoples lives is vital given the state of the globe. By consolidating charitable organizations and providing pertinent information everyday people can take meaningful steps to enact positive charitable contributions.
